Copenhagen based label GANNI has connected with New Balance to produce a blazing yellow colorway of the 1906R.
The GANNI x New Balance 1906R “Blazing Yellow” is launching today at ganni.com. New Balance will then release the sneaker on the 18th of August on newbalance.com for £155.
GANNI’s second collaboration with New Balance brings a touch of the unexpected to a legacy of running innovation. A tongue-in-cheek, self-aware twist on the “everyday athletics” from GANNI’s debut project explores the fluid ways in which purpose-driven performance design is used in the course of everyday life. The overtly technical aesthetic of the 1906R features flexible ACTEVA LITE cushioning, shock absorbing N-ergy, and segmented ABZORB SBS pods at the heel. The upper features a combination of breathable meshes and curvilinear synthetic overlays, outfitted in a striking, performance-inspired palette of bright yellow, black, and white. Co-branded details are led by a distinctive double pull tab at the heel, tongue label, sockliner and a ‘G’ emblazoned lace holder.
