The Air Max 1 is the perfect shoe for prosperity during the New Year celebrations. Inspired by traditional Chinese ceramics, the whole family represents a fun New Year event surrounding the dining table. Ceramic bowls are often considered to bring God’s favor. Similarly, the upper of this shoe uses multiple materials, featuring Chinese dragon and flower motifs, engravings and geometric patterns, as well as traditional Chinese characters for longevity and good luck. Glossy eyelets that resemble Chinese money on shoelaces designed in the image of chopsticks. The translucent outsole features a “Nike Official Kiln” stamp that certifies the authenticity of the shoe, resembling the traditional inscription on the bottom of the bowl.
As we recently posted, Nike is celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year with a collection of kicks. Here, we get a closer look at the Air Max 1 from the collection. The sneaker is now releasing in Japan and can be found on the SNKRS app.
