While most marathons are held on pavement in cities around the globe, there are long distances races that veer off the beaten path. size? in collaboration with adidas Originals is highlighting those races with a collection of sneakers. The range kicked-off with the ZX 500 “Jordan” and then moved on to the LXCON ’94 “Vietnam”.
Capping the collection, size? has cooked up a Greenland themed edition of the Marathon TR.
This week – for the capsule’s third and final release – we’re taking you to the icy plains of Greenland, with an iteration of the Marathon TR inspired by the island’s Polar Circle Marathon. Situated in Kangerlussuaq, ‘the Coolest Marathon on Earth’ takes runners on an awe-inspiring journey through an arctic tundra made up of glacier tongues, moraine landscapes and the soundless, arctic desert.
Our iteration of the Marathon TR ‘Greenland’ channels the sub-zero expedition with uppers designed with cool grey mesh and aqua blue suede. 3-Striping to the sidewall and branding to the heel tab are coloured in a popping red, while a marble grey envelopes the silhouette’s striking midsole underfoot. Inside, you’ll see a vector illustration symbolising the sights seen during the marathon. And this illustration can also be found the bespoke shoe box sent out with each order.
