Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov’s ASICS GEL Sokat Infinity is launching this week in a trio of colorways.
Newcastle based END has the kicks set for a 19th of April release (with the draw on END Launches ending on the 18th of April).
ASICS and Kiko Kostadinov continue their innovative partnership with the introduction of the GEL-SOKAT INIFINITY™ shoe, a contemporary, new silhouette and the first trainer in this collaboration with a full GEL® technology midsole.
Designed to coincide with Kiko Kostadinov’s ready-to-wear collection, the GEL-SOKAT INIFINITY™ shoe first premiered during his Spring/Summer 2019 Menswear show in London, in three colorways;· Pepper Mint/Forest Green
· Lavender Grey/Purple Plumeria· Dark Grey/Dark Grey
The silhouette takes its name from the Basque language, ‘SOKAT’ meaning “Tug of War.” The sport also served as the inspiration behind the asymmetric ankle shape – a reference taken from the original TSUNAHIKI109 shoe by ASICS which was designed specifically for Tug of War. This shoe also featured raised sides to protect the talocrural region during play. Kikoincorporated that element to create the GEL-SOKAT INFINITY™ silhouette, establishing a dynamic new shape for the ASICS x Kiko Kostadinov line.
Another new design feature for the collaboration is the full-length GEL-QUANTUM INFINITY™ tooling that is used on the sole, providing energized cushioning around the base of the foot, with a water ripple graduation on the underside for extra durability. The ASICS Stripe Design has been replaced with the ASICS Spiral logo taking the visual identity of the partnership to a new level.
